A faculty member of the Lorestan University Chemistry Department was honored as a national scientific leader.

Dr. Alireza Oveisi, a faculty member of the Organic Chemistry Department of the Faculty of Chemistry at Lorestan University, was included among the 57 scientific leaders of the country and was honored in the presence of the Vice President for Science and Technology and the Minister of Science.

According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, on Sunday, November 11th of this year, the ceremony of the ninth round of honoring the scientific leaders of the country was held with the presence of Dr. Hossein Afshin, Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, and Dr. Hossein Simaei Saraf, Minister of Science, Research and Technology, and officials from the Ministries of Science and Health.

In this ceremony, 57 outstanding scientific researchers of the country were honored.

Dr. Alireza Oveisi, Associate Professor of Organic Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry, Lorestan University, was included and introduced in the list of selected individuals in the first group (with articles in influential journals).

He was awarded a commemorative plaque and badge, laboratory research grants, and the opportunity to attract and employ three postdoctoral researchers.

This is the third time that Dr. Oveisi has been selected as a scientific leader of the country.

The program to support the selected scientific leaders is implemented with the aim of achieving scientific authority, increasing scientific quality in the country, and contributing to the advancement of credible research by researchers at the international level since 2015 under the supervision of the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology.

The scientific leaders of the country event is held using credible scientometric indicators and in a competitive program.

Among the reputable researchers of universities and scientific and research institutions in the country who have outstanding scientific publications, the selected individuals are identified and supported through the provision of cash research grants, incentives for laboratory network services of strategic technologies, and support for the recruitment and employment of postdoctoral researchers, in accordance with the guidelines of the National Science Foundation of Iran.

The Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry at Lorestan University is Dr. Abedin Zebardasti.
