Introduction to the Faculty
This faculty commenced its activities in 1356 SH (Solar Hijri calendar) as one of the four departments of the "Lorestan Higher Education Center," affiliated with Jundi Shapur University of Ahvaz, by admitting students in the field of Chemistry Education at the Bachelor's level. Over time, and with the elevation of the Lorestan Higher Education Center to Lorestan University, significant development occurred in the quantity and quality of educational programs. The Chemistry Department attained its specific academic position within the Faculty of Basic Sciences of Lorestan University and was upgraded to the Master's level by obtaining permission for Master's programs in Organic Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry in 1374 SH. It then proceeded to the Doctoral level by obtaining permission for Doctoral programs in Organic Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry, admitting students for the first time in 1386 SH.
In 1401 SH, by order of Mr. Dr. Nazari, the esteemed President of Lorestan University, the Faculty of Chemistry was established, and thus, the Chemistry Department of Lorestan University was elevated to a faculty.
Currently, this department has 19 full-time faculty members (9 professors, 4 associate professors, and 6 assistant professors), 2 Bachelor's programs (Pure Chemistry and Applied Chemistry), 5 Master's programs (Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, and Nano Chemistry), and 4 Doctoral programs in the specializations of (Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, and Physical Chemistry).
